Silicon Carbide (SiC) 

Silicon carbide is one of the most stable ceramic materials. It’s melting point lies around 2700 °C. It’s oxidation resistance lies above 1000°C. It is resistant to all acids and bases up to high temperatures. Furthermore, its hardness resembles that of diamond.

The material also exhibits interesting semiconductor properties.

Depending on the substrate, we are able to deposit (amorphous) dense SiC in thickness’ ranging from 100 nm to 10 microns.
